Meet the Artist: Mary Conder
Mary is a self-taught artist who has been quietly honing her skills for most of her life. She began painting with water-colour before discovering her passion for pastels.
Mary’s paintings carry a strong sense of nostalgia, often referencing cherished childhood objects and personal memories. These fragments from the past—whether toys, vintage household items, or fleeting moments of innocence—are thoughtfully woven into expansive landscapes. The settings feel both familiar and otherworldly, as though they belong to a distant memory or a scene from a storybook. This juxtaposition of the real and the imagined gives the work a dreamlike quality, inviting viewers to step into a world that is both comforting and quietly mysterious.
Gallery 8 is excited to exhibit Marys artwork this week at Gallery 8.
