Artist: Tarik Dallinger-Dimizio
Size: 102 cm (W) x 152 (H)
Medium: Cardboard, Sand, textured paste, acrylic paint, and liquid ink on canvas
Description:
Emotions poured into this piece, raw and unrelenting. I had layered the background with intention, only to unearth a deep-seated fear of everything in life going too well, too smoothly.
For weeks, I stared at it, searching to understand what it yearned to become. Then, at last, I unblocked the human within me the fragile part that had been obstructing something so pure and this exploded forth in a torrent. Sadness fills my eyes, and this work stands as a window to a soul that finds the world a heavy, hard-to-bear place.
