Gallery 8 Spring Pop-Up Exhibition Launch & Live Art Battle
Gallery 8 came alive for the launch of our Spring Pop-Up Exhibition, bringing together artists, collectors, friends and the local Gold Coast community for an evening of original art, live creativity and plenty of atmosphere.
The exhibition launch celebrated a diverse collection of works from emerging and established artists, with the gallery walls filled with colour and created across a wide range of styles.
At the centre of the night was our Live Art Battle a a fast-paced creative challenge where participating artists had just 20 minutes to create an artwork live in front of the audience.
With the clock running, the pressure was on.
Guests watched each piece develop in real time, seeing the artists make quick decisions, work instinctively and respond to the energy in the room. There was no time to overthink or start again - just 20 minutes to transform a blank surface into a finished work.
The result was a collection of raw, expressive and completely unique pieces that captured the excitement of the night. Each piece was Auctioned .
Audience voting added another element to the event, with guests helping decide which artists would progress through the heats and into the final round. The combination of live painting, music, audience participation and original art created an incredible atmosphere throughout the gallery.
More importantly, the night was about celebrating the artists.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Art Battle, exhibited in the Spring Pop-Up and joined us for opening night. Events like this are only possible because artists are willing to put their work — and in the case of the Art Battle, their entire creative process — on display.

The Gallery 8 Spring Pop-Up Exhibition is now open, with works available to view and purchase for a limited time.
Visitors can discover original artworks from a wide range of artists, including pieces created during the Live Art Battle itself.
If you missed opening night, there is still plenty of time to experience the exhibition in person.
