Session 8: Live Music & Performance Opportunities
A key part of Art in Motion is Session 8, Gallery 8’s live music and performance program supporting emerging musicians and performers. Session 8 gives local creatives access to a professional, licensed venue where they can perform, launch projects, connect with audiences and build commercial opportunities.
A recent example was Gallery 8’s support of emerging musician Zayden Kennedy, where the venue providedfor his album launch. The event was a success, This outcome demonstrates the potential of Session 8 to support emerging musicians in a practical way - not only by giving them a stage, but by helping them generate income, build audiences and strengthen their creative careers.
Pop-Up Exhibitions & Live Art Events
Art in Motion also supports visual artists through pop-up exhibitions and live art events.
Gallery 8’s pop-up exhibitions give artists the opportunity to show their work in a real gallery environment, connect with audiences and take part in a wider creative community. Selected pop-up exhibition artists may also receive reduced gallery commission rates, helping make exhibition opportunities more accessible.
Live Art Battle events create a different kind of opportunity. Artists create work in front of a live audience, allowing the public to experience the energy, process and personality behind the artwork. These events help artists gain exposure, create content, connect with new audiences and build confidence in a public setting.
